How does the TradingView free trial work?
TradingView offers a free trial on its paid plans for new users. You add a payment method, get full access to the plan, and are charged automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel first. Cancelling before the end date costs nothing and returns you to the free Basic plan.
Trial length has long been 30 days, but TradingView sets the terms. Check the exact length and end date on the checkout screen before you start.
Separate from Basic: TradingView Basic is a free plan, not a trial. It never expires and needs no card, but it's limited to one chart and two indicators.

How do you start a TradingView free trial?
- Open TradingView and create an accountUse an email, Google or Apple sign-in. If you want the partner coupon later, open TradingView through a partner link before you register.
- Go to the pricing page and pick a planChoose the tier you expect to need. Trialing a higher tier and stepping down later is easier than guessing low.
- Choose monthly or annual billingThis decides what you'll be charged when the trial ends. Annual is cheaper but charges the full year at once.
- Add a payment method and confirmNote the trial end date shown at checkout and set a reminder a few days before it.
What happens when the TradingView trial ends?
If you do nothing, the trial converts to a paid subscription on the billing period you picked. If you chose annual billing, that's one charge for the whole year, so double-check the billing period before the end date.
If you cancel, your account drops back to Basic. Your account and saved layouts aren't deleted, but anything over Basic's limits, such as extra charts, indicators or alerts, stops working until you upgrade again.
How do you cancel a TradingView trial?
- Open your profile menuSign in on the TradingView website and open your account settings.
- Go to billing or subscriptionFind your active plan and its renewal date.
- Cancel the subscriptionConfirm the cancellation and look for the confirmation email. Keep it until the end date passes.
If you started the trial in the iOS or Android app, cancel through Apple or Google instead; TradingView can't cancel app store subscriptions for you.
Does the free trial work with the $15 coupon?
The two work together. When you sign up through a partner link, TradingView gives you 90 days to subscribe, and starting a trial extends that window by another 90 days after the trial ends. Once you've bought your first plan, the $15 coupon applies to your next eligible plan purchase.
So you can try first, decide calmly, and still qualify. More detail in our TradingView discount code guide.
How do you get the most out of the trial?
- Rebuild your real workflow. Set up the layouts, indicators and alerts you'd actually use, not a demo.
- Count what you use. Near the end, check how many charts, indicators and alerts you had running. That tells you which plan to keep.
- Test alerts during market hours. Alerts are one of the main reasons to pay. Make sure they fire the way you expect.
- Mind sale timing. If the trial ends in November, compare the Black Friday price before converting. See our Black Friday guide.
